Description

This research interest group focusses on patient safety, ways to reduce diagnostic errors that may compromise patient safety and measures (e.g. mnemonic checklist) to mitigate cognitive biases during clinical decision making.

Gamification in Medical Education

Description

This research interest group focusses on the application of various forms of gamification in medical education including clinical and procedural skills training. Projects done under this interest group including gamifying point-of-care ultrasonographic (POCUS) training with the use of games mechanics such as the leaderboards, badges, etc in a game-show like assessment sessions and creating board game as an alternative to table top exercise for disaster management training (won first prize for medical student category in the 2019 UNIMAS Curriculum Innovation and Learner Engagement Competition). This interest group also provides opportunities for medical students to get involved in research and data analysis activities.
