The Cardiovascular and Cardiometabolic Disorder research interest group believes a multi-disciplinary team is essential in tackling the epidemic of cardiovascular disease in the country. Sharing of resources, experiences, and expertise is invaluable in overcoming the shortcomings we face in tackling the epidemic, especially in a state like Sarawak. The research projects undertaken by this group currently involves: (1) using Machine learning and Artificial Neural Network in helping doctors treat or diagnose cardiovascular problems (2) epidemiology studies of cardiovascular diseases in developing countries including Rheumatic Heart Disease and (3) matching cardiovascular imaging with genetic biomarkers in prognosticating cardiovascular diseases.
